In 2002, Christine W. Hunter, MD was appointed Acting Chairman of the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Department of Anesthesia. Under her leadership, there are twenty-eight full time faculty members representing many anesthesia subspecialties and eight nurse anesthetists staffing the nineteen operating rooms, OB and lithotripsy suites, ambulatory anesthesia operating rooms and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
