SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISMS (SNPs)
The DNA Core Facility has several methods to study SNPs available to suit your lab's individual needs. If you need assistance in deciding which method fits your project or in designing experiments, please contact the Core.
DNA SEQUENCING
DNA Sequencing can be used for SNP discovery. Alternativly, sequencing through a short region of known sequence containing mutiple SNPS can be an inexpensive and rapid method for high volume samples. Contact the Core for special bulk pricing.
ABI SNaPshot KIT
This method is designed for rapid, high throughput identification of known SNPs using the ABI 3100 sequencers. The chemistry uses fluorescently labeled dideoxy single-base extension of an unlabeled primer.
