AcupunctureAcupuncture is a part of Oriental Medicine, and was introduces in China over 2000 years ago. In Oriental Medicine, energy (chi) is believed to circulate through the body along specific pathways. Disruption of this circulation can result in pain or illness. To re-balance the circulation of energy, acupuncture points along the pathways are stimulated. Acupuncture is used to diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses, improve well-being and prevent disease. It has been reported by the NIH to be one of the most widely researched and documented alternative therapies. Conditions treated include a variety of pain syndromes, chronic fatigue, arthritis, nausea and vomiting, especially during chemotherapy, various neurologic and allergic conditions.
