How to Apply
The New Brunswick residency program only accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
We will be accepting applications for our four PGY I positions in the 2009-2010 class from September 1, 2008 to November 30, 2008.

Applicants from U.S. M.D. or D.O. programs are preferred. Applications from outstanding International Medical School students or recent graduates will be considered. However we will only review applications from candidates who have graduated medical school in 2008 or will graduate from medical school in 2009.
All applicants to the New Brunswick program must meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in the NRMP match.
- Graduate from a Medical College accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or a Foreign Medical School recognized by the World Health Organization.
- Have passing scores on USMLE or Comlex Exams for Steps 1 & 2 and clinical skills assessment; we prefer candidates who passed both steps on their first attempt.
- Have at least one year of formal clinical experience in a U.S. Hospital involving direct patient care, as a medical student and/or postgraduate.
- Have their official Medical School Transcript and Dean's Letter submitted directly to our program via ERAS.
- Provide at least three letters of recommendation with at least two letters from physicians who have supervised you during your US clinical experience.
- International medical school (IMG) graduates must meet all requirements of the Education Commission on Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). All IMG's must hold a current valid ECMFG certificate and have taken and passed their USMLE 1, 2, and CSA exams by the time of our final NRMP ranking on February 8, 2009.
- Be either a US citizen or US permanent resident. Our Medical School does not sponsor any Visas and our program does not accept any applicants on a Visa. This includes H1B and J1 Visas.
- Applicants must meet all criterion established by UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as outlined in the Graduate Medical Education Manual Section I.1-4.C.
