Your Research Ideas
Knowledge is power. Generating and sharing knowledge relevant to family practice is critical to improve the health of our patients. Tapping into the practicing clinicians' insights is essential in the development of relevant study ideas. The NJFMRN is always looking for your ideas and feedback on network activities for this reason.
A research
application must be submitted to the Network administrative office.
Contact the office for assistance in completing the application.
This is your opportunity to suggest new study ideas. Here are examples of past ideas that practicing clinicians from other networks have suggested and were turned into studies, published, and changed practice for the better.
- Miscarriage is not a surgical disease requiring a D&C but an emotional condition
requiring support - Carpal tunnel syndrome is a medical not surgical disease (90% of patients
improve in a month with conservative treatment) - A diagnosis of otitis media doesn't automatically require an antibiotic prescription
Like the example below, these studies were designed and implemented by asking clinicians to check items on a card. (Clik on the image of the card below for a larger view).
So please send us your ideas for studies. We will work with you to make it into a "card study" like the example above. Your ideas are valued.
