PHILIP E. RANCE II FOUNDATION

The Philip E. Rance II Foundation was established in 1997 as a Memorial to Philip E. Rance II, who died as a young man from the complications of "Septo-Optic Dysplasia". The Foundation is designed to serve as a source of information for parents, professionals, and other interested individuals regarding the evaluation and management of patients with SOD. An additional goal of the Rance Foundation is to stimulate research into the basic biological causes of SOD, so that better preventative and treatment measures can be implemented.

Through the Robert Wood Johnson Medicial School, New Brunswick, NJ, The Rance Foundation offers Scholarships in Developmental Medicine to selected medical students who demonstrate special interest in the field of Developmental Medicine. The first Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Rance Foundation Student Scholar, Mark H. Jensen, was selected in April 1998 CLICK HERE .

The Rance Foundation also offers incentives to promote student research regarding SOD and related conditions. To obtain application information for the STUDENT RESEARCH CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARD CLICK HERE
