The instructional design staff identifies training needs and advises faculty and other clients in determining appropriate instructional goals and objectives, and in selecting and/or developing appropriate instructional strategies using multimedia and telecommunications technologies. The staff has expertise in; designing, developing, and integrating multimedia and CBT into courses; designing and delivering workshops and seminars in multimedia technology for instruction; and consulting with faculty regarding the acquisition, development, and use of multimedia educational technology in support of curricular enhancement. In concert with faculty, they can identify, design, develop, and implement innovative multimedia curricula that can be delivered asynchronously, as well as synchronously, or in classroom settings. Services include authoring CD-ROM or CD-I for PC, Macintosh, and Unix platforms; developing interactive programs and materials for distant learning (intranet, Internet, video conferences); repurposing and authoring interactive videodiscs (IVD); and design, development, and delivery of computer-based-training (CBT) and on-line database projects.
