The Media Library offers curriculum support in the basic sciences for students, faculty and staff through its electronic and print collections. The library provides facilities, equipment, materials and guidance that allow for self instruction on an individual or group basis.

This facility allows students to reinforce the knowledge and skills acquired in the lecture hall, small group sessions and laboratory in a comfortable environment conducive to learning, near necessary information resources and library specialists who can provide additional support. We provide a variety of materials, on-site assistance, and unique library services to all those affiliated with UMDNJ, but primarily first and second year medical students. We are also responsible for recording and posting audio lectures to the Web in WMA and MP3 formats (see Audio Lecture Access section)

However, we are not considered a "research library", and have limited general reference materials. We do not subscribe to print journals but provide access to electronic publications. Those seeking a larger medical library can visit the Rutgers Library of Science and Medicine in Piscataway (732 445-2895) or the Library of the Health Sciences in New Brunswick, located in the Medical Education Building at the RWJ University Hospital(732-235-7610)
