Core Facilities

The Department of Molecular Genetics, Microbiology, and Immunology contains many facilities, some of which are open to the outside.

The DNA Synthesis and Sequencing Laboratory located in the Research Annex is committed to provide quality, inexpensive services to scientists at UMDNJ, Rutgers University, and other scientific institutions and companies. Services are provided for automated DNA sequencing, oligonucleotide synthesis, and DNA fragment analysis.

The department maintains a Molecular Dynamics 9410 Phosphorimager and a Stratagene Mx4000 Multiplex Quantitative PCR system. In the Staged Research Building, there is also a FacScan Flow Cytometer and a NiKon ECLIPSE TE2000 Florescent Microscope available.
