Process for Matching Students and SponsorsA list of faculty members who would like to mentor a student is available here. If you are interested in sponsoring a student, complete the online registration. If your status changes, please contact Janice Shanahan at (732)-235-4688 so that the list can be updated. Faculty members who can obtain the necessary student support from grants or other sources should make their own arrangements and remove themselves and the student from the competition. Faculty sponsors should not submit separate registrations from two or more students for the same project. The choice of student is up to the sponsor, not the committee. Because of the limited availability of funds, we do not anticipate being able to support more than one student per faculty advisor. An abstract of 500 to 800-words, without figures and tables, is required of each student by the end of September. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will sponsor presentations during the summer. There will be two sessions where each student present their research to their fellow students and mentors. Half will present in the middle of the fellowship and the other half at the end of the program. It will consist of approximately 10 minute presentations. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and Student Affairs will cosponsor a research and clinical summer opportunity poster session each year usually in the fall. These sessions will be mandatory for all students participating in this summer program. Copies of the Rules and Criteria are also available in the Research Office. |
