The equipment required for sending images of diagnostic quality to other
sites are a digital camera connected to the microscope as standard cameras
now are. The resolution of such cameras should be at least ~ 160 X 240 lines/cm.An
image acquistion software program running on any of a number of computer
models. Communications software and communications linkage (wire, fiber
optic, short wave) to another workstation either within a closed system,
an intranet, or through an open communications system, an internet.
