Resident ElectiveThis rotation provides pediatric residents with a comprehensive look at the practice of Pediatric Infectious Disease medicine in both the inpatient consultation service and the outpatient clinic setting. Residents are exposed to a variety of clinical disease states including Pediatric HIV. Residents also rotate through the Virology and Microbiology Laboratories for a pathology- related exposure to ID. The residency elective consists of two weeks in ID and one week in allergy. Residents give a case presentation to housestaff during the final week of the rotation. Formal resident teaching consists of:
