Residency Applications: Applications are invited to the Psychiatry Residency Program from graduate students or approved medical schools. We now accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS).

Please contact the Student Affairs office at your institution or the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) for more details regarding the ERAS program.

NO PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Directions: From the NJ Turnpike, take Exit 9 New Brunswick to Route 18 North through New Brunswick and across the Raritan River. As you cross the bridge/overpass, stay in the right lane, keeping an eye out for the exit for River Road/Piscataway. Take the exit to the right and come down and around on the ramp. Merge onto River Road and proceed approximately half a mile to the third light, where you will turn right onto Hoes Lane. Follow directions from Hoes Lane*.

From Garden State Parkway (GSP) North or South: Take GSP North to exit 127 or South to exit 129 to Interstate 287 North; or the NJ Turnpike to exit 10 to I-287. Take I-287 to exit 9. Turn left at the end of exit onto River Road. At the third traffic light (about 3 miles) turn left onto Hoes Lane. Follow directions from Hoes Lane*.

If coming from I-287 South, take exit 9 and turn right at the end of the exit onto River Road. At the third traffic light (about 3 miles) turn left onto Hoes Lane. Follow directions from Hoes Lane.

*From Hoes Lane: Proceed about a mile through residential area to a sign for UMDNJ; a short distance later is a sign for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (the school will be on the right an 8 story building, we are located in the building to the left of the school, University Behavioral Healthcare Building). All visitors should park across the street in Parking Lot B.

Mass Transit: Taxi service is available from the New Brunswick train station 3.5 miles to UMDNJ’s Piscataway Campus.
