Veterans Affairs New Jersey HealthCare System
The Veterans Affairs New Jersey HealthCare System (VA NJHCS) is a recently consolidated facility comprised of two main campuses, one in East Orange and the other in Lyons, New Jersey.

The residents in our program rotate through the Lyons campus. Currently, the Lyons division operates 569 hospital beds, a 240-bed Nursing Home Care Unit, and an 82-bed domiciliary. 180 psychiatric beds serve a sub-acute and chronic population. The outpatient clinics provide for approximately 65,000 visits per year.

In addition to general medical, psychiatry, and long-term care, a full range of medical and surgical subspecialty care is provided to veterans of the VA New Jersey Health Care System. Special programs and initiatives include a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Unit, Alzheimer’s Disease Unit, Homeless Domiciliary Program, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) Unit, Home-Based Primary Care, Persian Gulf Family Support Program, Hemodialysis Program, Women’s Health Services, and Low Vision Center.
