The residents in our program rotate through the Lyons campus. Currently, the Lyons division operates 569 hospital beds, a 240-bed Nursing Home Care Unit, and an 82-bed domiciliary. 180 psychiatric beds serve a sub-acute and chronic population. The outpatient clinics provide for approximately 65,000 visits per year.
The Veterans Affairs New Jersey HealthCare System (VA NJHCS) is a recently consolidated facility comprised of two main campuses, one in East Orange and the other in Lyons, New Jersey.In addition to general medical, psychiatry, and long-term care, a full range of medical and surgical subspecialty care is provided to veterans of the VA New Jersey Health Care System. Special programs and initiatives include a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Unit, Alzheimer’s Disease Unit, Homeless Domiciliary Program, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) Unit, Home-Based Primary Care, Persian Gulf Family Support Program, Hemodialysis Program, Women’s Health Services, and Low Vision Center.
