In-Hospital Conferences
In-Hospital
conference attendance is mandatory except when direct patient care may
be compromised or absence from a procedure would diminish the resident's
educational experience.
R1 Conference
Daily
7:30 to 8:30 AM
R1
conferences are held on a daily basis in the G1 conference room. The topics are sent via e-mail to the residents the week before in order
to prepare.
R2 Conference
Once a week (Tuesday
or Wednesday) from 8:30 to 9:30 AM
R2
conferences are held once a week in the G1 conference room. It is
a case based resident run conference with a faculty moderator present
for additional feedback.
R3 Conference
Three or more times per week
R3 conferences are specifically given to fourth year residents from January through June as intensive preparation for their upcoming oral boards.
Radiology Pathology Conference
Third
Thursday of every month from 7:30 to 8:30 AM
Radiology-Pathology
Conference is held once a month and is held jointly between the Department of Radiology and Pathology. Interesting radiogical cases are presented by the radiology resident. This is followed by discussion of gross and microscopic histological correlation by the pathology resident. The conference is open to all faculty members and staff of the Department of Radiology and Pathology.
Radiology Grand Rounds (RSNJ)
Third
Thursday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 PM
Radiology
Grand Rounds is an arena where invited experts in the field of radiology
speak to the Department of Radiology. This conference is open to the entire
faculty and staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical School. The
visiting Radiologists give the RSNJ Grand Rounds once a month. The lecturer
comes to discuss interesting cases with the residents at 4:00 PM. Refreshments
are provided at 5:30 pm .
Neuroradiology-Neurology Conference
Every Second Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 AM
Neuroradiology-Neurology conference is held every second friday of every month jointly between the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology. Interesting neuroradiological cases are presented and discussed during this interdisciplinary conference. Breakfast is provided.
Pulmonary
Conference
Every
Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM
Pulmonary
conference is given every Friday in MEB Room 102 and is held by the Department of Medicine-Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care. This conference is also attended by faculty and staff from the Department of Radiology and Pathology. Lunch is provided.
Gasteroenterology - Radiology Conference
Monthly at noon.
This conference is held jointly between Department of Medicine-Division of Gastroenterology with Department of Radiology. Interesting cases are shown and discussed between the two departments. Lunch is provided.
Pediatric
Tumor Board Conference
Every
Second Thursday 5:00 to 6:00 PM
The
resident rotating on Pediatric Radiology presents interesting cases at
this conference.
OTHER EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES
Physics
First
year residents review physics with a UMDNJ physicist prior to their physics
written board examinations.
Armed
Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP)
Third
year residents attend the four-week Radiology-Pathology course offered
at AFIP in Washington, DC.
DUKE
Review Course
Senior
residents attend this intensive four day review course prior to taking
their written board examination.
The
department pays the tuition for our residents to attend this course.
