The Robert Wood Johnson Library regularly offers classes in searching bibliographic databases. Instructional sessions can also be privately scheduled for individuals or groups. To request more information, contact the Reference Desk via email or at 235-7604.

Introduction to Ovid on the Web:
The session is designed for the experienced database searcher who wishes to
search the University Libraries electronic databases using the Ovid Web
interface. The databases include MEDLINE, CINAHL, HEALTHStar, Current Contents,
Best Evidence, the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Journals@Ovid. Audience: All
faculty, students and staff interested in learning effective searching
of the Ovid databases using Ovid Web. Prerequisites: Familiarity
with Ovid search basics.
Introduction to EndNote:
Are you tired of typing numerous, complicated bibliographic citations? This
session is an introduction to EndNote, a popular bibliographic management
tool. Participants will learn how to create "libraries" (reference databases),
to import citations from an Ovid database search into a bibliography, and
to manage different bibliographic formats. You September wish to complete one of
the Library's EndNote Tutorials: Version
5 or Version 7 or Version
X. in preparation for this class. Audience: All faculty, students
and staff interested in learning how to use EndNote effectively. Prerequisites:
Basic computer skills.
Library Survival Skills:
An introduction to the RWJ Library of the Health Sciences. This class is appropriate
for individuals who need to use Library resources but lack training or
experience in working in these areas. The class will cover the basics of
locating books, journals, and other materials in the Library's collection.
It includes a tour of the Library, introductions to Library staff and services,
and a tour of the Library's website.
