PDA Support Policy

The Library recognizes the need to provide support for the PDA-Based products that it offers to its patrons. This policy explains what type of support the library is able to provide.

Consultations

Library instructors are available to provide consultations by appointment on using your PDA as a medical information tool. Contact the RWJ Library Reference Staff at 732-235-7604 or email meblib@umdnj.edu.

Classes

When requested by a department or group, library instructors can provide hands-on practice in effective PDA use in the medical environment.

Software Supported

UMDNJ Libraries license and support the following products for use on a hand-held device:

Access Medicine
DynaMed
Pocket Consult
Essential Evidence Plus

Library staff will assist UMDNJ patrons in the following areas:

Dowloading
Installation
Registration
Licensing

Hardware

Due to the large number of devices available, the Library is not able to provide hotsynching workstations in-house. It is the responsibility of the individual user to hotsynch their PDA with a computer of their choosing.
